The BOB ABeh 4/4 II are meter-gauge electric multiple units of the Berner Oberland-Bahn (BOB) in Switzerland for mixed adhesion and gear operation , manufactured by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works and by Brown, Boveri & Cie.

history

In 1985, the BOB ordered three more railcars to replace the ABeh 4/4 I from 1965 and 1979.

In 1986 the three new ABeh 4/4 II (311-313) railcars were delivered. Together with the BDt 401–403 driving trailer, you can operate as shuttle trains and in the spring and autumn off-season you can handle almost the entire operation on your own. With the delivery of the three ABeh 4/4 II, the three ABDeh 4/4 from 1949 were no longer needed and withdrawn from regular passenger traffic.

business

When the new ABDeh 8/8 multiple units were delivered in 2017 , the ABeh 4/4 were withdrawn from scheduled service. If one of the new multiple units should fail, one of the ABeh 4/4 II will take over its performance.
