BPM inspire is a Business Process Management (BPM) suite that business processes are automated and organized. BPM inspire is developed and sold by Inspire Technologies GmbH, headquartered in St. Georgen (Black Forest) .

history

The first BPM inspire component was developed on the German market in 1996 under the name Report Developer (component of the GRIT product family), at that time under the umbrella of GFT Technologies SE . This component also made it possible to create client-server applications that were independent of the operating system, thus paving the way for the first steps towards the automation of processes. The release of the Report Developer was used worldwide as an OEM component for measurement reports in large-scale systems. In the course of the Internet hype at the end of the 90s, a product for browser-based data acquisition was released under the name Business2web, so that the way for individual interfaces was paved early on. In this way, data could not only be recorded and output, but also processed in terms of processes, which resulted in a full-fledged BPM suite. This was already used in 2001 for the city of Zurich.

As part of a management buy-out, the Business Process Management division was taken over from GFT in 2008 and transferred to an independent, independent company, Inspire Technologies GmbH. GFT inspire became BPM inspire. After version 9.0 appeared on the market in 2014 with a modernized mask designer and BPMN 2.0 process designer, the most recent release, BPM inspire 9.1, was published in 2016.

Functions

BPM inspire consists of the modules business process modeling (BPMN 2.0 and UML), automation of business processes, creation of browser-based interfaces, process portal for applications and controlling and monitoring, which are used to develop applications for the optimization of business processes. The suite works as an open system and can therefore carry out any business process optimization. In addition to quality management , an internal control system and personnel management, this also includes document-centric processes such as contract management and invoice processing . A central process portal functions as both a user and administrator entry point into BPM inspire. In addition to customizable solution templates and extensions, there is also a central task control system. An interface designer creates browser-based forms and graphical user interfaces. BPM inspire supports HTML5, any JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and the transfer of static HTMl templates for dynamic use. By means of monitoring, processes can be prepared graphically using dashboards, but also documented in both professional and technical detail using a documentation generator. The Analytics expansion module enables unstructured data to continue to be used in processes. Business processes can be recorded and displayed graphically using either the standard UML or BPMN 2.0 notations. BPM inspire generates native Java code for executable applications from models.

The actual development environment consists of the components insign, inform and inspire, whereby insign represents the user administration, inform the user interface and inspire the automation. BPM inspire is embedded in an Eclipse environment, but also uses its own 4GL script language for inform , which can only be passed on by the manufacturer himself.

commitment

BPM inspire uses the Java-based Eclipse framework for the designer. On the server side, it runs on all servlet-enabled web servers, e.g. B. Apache Tomcat and supports a number of databases for storing business processes and their process instances : Oracle (database system) , DB2 , Microsoft SQL Server , PostgreSQL , MySQL . BPM inspire is used by financial service providers (e.g. Sparkassen and Volksbanken), retailers (e.g. Markant, Globus, MIAG / Metro), public administration (e.g. City of Leipzig) and numerous well-known companies in other industries (e.g. SIXT, Best Western , Siemens, T-Systems) in action.

MR.KNOW

MR.KNOW is a solution from BPM Inspire for creating assistance systems. A digital assistant is used to automate business processes and thus helps with the digitization of processes. The creation proceeds as follows: Process models are uploaded using drag & drop and the web application is then automatically created from the model. User interfaces and forms can be adapted without programming. Depending on the area of application, various technologies such as bots , RPA , OCR , BPM , AI and language can be added.

Possible areas of application include: auditing companies, law firms, public administration, police and security authorities, trade, insurance, telco, energy and for remote maintenance, controls and diagnoses.
