The BRZ Germany GmbH is a company of information technology for the construction industry. In addition to other international IT companies as well as national construction companies and real estate companies, the company belongs to the parent company Nürnberger Baustuppe . BRZ-Software specializes in the requirements of construction companies. BRZ currently employs around 600 people across Europe who look after around 15,000 companies, primarily in the construction industry . The main market is Germany, where there are 18 other branches in addition to the corporate headquarters in Nuremberg . Three further branches are maintained by the foreign companies in France with headquarters in Lille and Switzerland with headquarters in Rotkreuz . The high number of branches for an IT company is explained by the need for customer proximity for accompanying organizational support and process outsourcing.
history
BRZ was originally the abbreviation for construction data center . The company emerged from the IT department of the Nuremberg construction company Tauber Bau and was founded in 1968 as an independent service provider for building wage accounting. In addition to building wage accounting, the first IT programs for construction companies were soon developed.
With the first DOS applications in the 1980s, additional programs (calculation, quantity take-off and invoicing) were developed for mapping and documenting construction processes . Other accounting programs followed. In 1996 the switch to the Windows generation took place.
In recent years, the company has been converted from a software supplier to an organizational consultant with software solutions. Strategic connections and investments in other IT companies for the construction industry shape the expansion process of the company and underline the consolidation process of the entire IT industry for several years.
On January 1, 2018, Max Böhler and Ralf-Peter Oepen took over the management.

Awards
In 2002 BRZ received the Innovator Award 2002 for its portable solution.
In 2013, BRZ received the “Best Business Idea” special prize in the “Best in Cloud” competition, which was organized by the specialist magazine Computerwoche , for the market launch and implementation of a cloud computing solution that combines software as a service and outsourcing of business processes, here the commercial administration, realized for construction companies.
In 2013, at the French building trade fair Batimat , BRZ received the gold trophy from French Environment Minister Cécile Duflot for first place in the IT and Services category as an award for the BIM software solution BIM4You for the model-based management of buildings by combining CAD- based building geometry information and alphanumeric buildings - or construction project calculation .
