The BSG Union Halle-Neustadt is a former company sports association from Halle-Neustadt . The handball players of the BSG Union Halle-Neustadt won the district league Halle in the season 1986/87 and secured promotion to the GDR league, the second highest league in GDR women's handball. In the first GDR league season one was sorted into the season south. With eighth place in the table you were the best climber and kept the class. In the 1988/89 season, the team from Halle won the championship title in the South Season of the GDR League just before BSG Motor Mitte-Magdeburg , thereby securing promotion to the GDR league .
