Ba-pef ( Ba-pef ) is an ancient Egyptian underworld deity.

The nature of the Ba-pef is unclear. It is believed to be a deity of pain and sorrow. The translation of his name means "this / that soul" and suggests that this unspecific name was chosen out of fear or because of a taboo about using the correct name. The house of Ba-pef in the underworld is mentioned in the pyramid texts , but further details about the deity are missing.

In Giza were in the grave of Meresanch III. Evidence found of a priesthood of Ba-pef at the time of the Old Kingdom . However, this deity does not seem to have been of great importance at any time.
