Haxhi Baba Edmond Brahimaj (* 1959 or 1960 in Vlora , Albania ), Baba Mondi for short, is an Albanian Sufi clergyman and chairman of the Albanian World Bektashi Association (Kryegjyshata Boterore Bektashiane) .

Edmond Brahimaj attended elementary and middle school in Vlora and graduated from the military academy. From 1982 he was stationed as an officer in the Albanian armed forces on the border with Yugoslavia . After the introduction of democracy in 1990 he became a student of the Bektashite Dedebabalik on January 2, 1992 . Eventually he became a dervish on May 16, 1996 , and in 1997 he received the honorary title of Baba .

Soon Baba Mondi became chairman of the Turan- Tekke of Korça . Later, the Dedelik of the Albanian capital Tirana appointed him as overseer of the Arabati-Baba-Tekke of Tetovo in North Macedonia . In view of the takeover of the Tekke by Muslim Sunnis , Baba Mondi declared that he, like his brothers and sisters, was committed to a progressive vision of Islam .

After the death of Haxhi Dedebaba Reshat Bardhi , whose deputy was Edmond Brahimaj, he was appointed head of the Bektashi order by the Council of Albanian Babas in June 2011. He has the certificate of appointment as "Ambassador for Peace" of the Mun sect , signed by Sun Myung Moon and his wife.
