Bath establishment
The Badanstalt (today's official name: Center de relaxation aquatique Badanstalt ) is a public bathing establishment in the center of Luxembourg City , which has existed since 1875.
history
At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, numerous places in Europe built an urban bath that served both public hygiene and physical fitness. Such a municipal bath also increased the public image of a community. The bathing establishment was built from 1873 to 1875 by the Luxembourg architect Pierre Funck (1846–1932) together with his father-in-law, the architect Jean-François Eydt (1809–1884).
location
The complex, known in French as: Center de relaxation aquatique Badanstalt ( German : Erholungszentrum Badanstalt ) is located at Biedergaass 12 (French: 12, rue des Bains ). The bus stop named Badanstalt is in front of the building .
To the northwest, the Badanstalt borders the Bouvelard Royal (German: Königsstraße ), and to the southeast it borders the Rue de Bains (German: Badstraße ). Avenue Jean-Pierre Pescatore leads past the building to the northeast .
Facility
The facility consists of a medium-sized swimming pool ( indoor pool ), two sauna cabins , a Turkish bath , a fitness room, showers and a solarium.
