The bathing lake Großheide is a quarry pond in the area of the East Frisian community Großheide in Lower Saxony . The lake serves as a recreational lake.

history
The Großheide swimming lake is named after the municipality of the same name, on whose territory it is located. It was created by removing sand .
Leisure facility
The Doornkaatsweg leisure facility is located at the swimming lake. It is a local recreation area and has a sandy beach with a shallow water zone and an adjacent lawn for sunbathing. There is also a beach volleyball field. In 2012 it was expanded into a leisure facility with parking spaces for cars and mobile homes.
