Badin District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Badin .
The district has an area of 6,726 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,487,903 inhabitants. The population density is 268 inhabitants / km². The Sindhi language is spoken by the majority in the district .
location
The district is located in the south of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. Badin is located east of the mega city of Karachi .

history
Badin was the center of the ancient Indus Valley civilization . The Islam came n. Chr 711th in the region. The areas remained under the control of the Islamic caliphates until it was conquered by the Ghaznavids . In 1592 it came under the direct rule of the Mughal emperors .
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 2.60% annually. Around 22% of the population live in urban regions and around 78% in rural regions. 932,488 men, 871,979 women and 49 transgender people live in 359,376 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 106.9 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 37% (women: 23%, men: 49%) and thus below the average of the Sindh province of 60%.
