The Baerenkopf (German Bärenkopf ) is a mountain in the southern Vosges , eight kilometers southeast of the Ballon d'Alsace . It closes the valley of the Madeleine river , which rises 780 m above sea level on its flank. It is wooded and has a well-developed network of hiking trails.
The communes of Dolleren in the Grand Est region and Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté share the top of the mountain .
