Bagger 293 (MAN TAKRAF RB293) is a bucket wheel excavator of the type SRs 8000. It was built in 1995 by Tenova TAKRAF , the former East German TAKRAF combine .
It also holds the records for the largest and heaviest land vehicle in the Guinness Book of Records . The Bagger 293 belongs to a group of similarly sized “sibling” vehicles such as the Bagger 281 (built in 1958), Bagger 285 (1975), Bagger 287 (1976), Bagger 288 . (1978) and Bagger 291 (1993).
It is used in the lignite mine in Hambach . It was named Bagger 293 from its current owner, RWE Power AG . It was referred to as RB293 by its previous owner, the Rheinbraun lignite group , which had been a subsidiary of RWE since 1932.

- The 293 excavator appears on the HBO television series Westworld . He is used there by the fictional "Locations & Constructions Department" for terraforming.
