The Bagnold Point is a headland on the coast of Arrowsmith Peninsula in Graham Land to the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between the Gunnel Channel and the Schumski Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1960 after the British desert researcher Ralph Alger Bagnold (1896–1990), author of the standard work The Physics of Blown Sand and Desert Dunes from 1941.
