The Schumski Bay ( English Shumskiy Cove ) is a cove in the northwest of Arrowsmith Peninsula on Loubet Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is surrounded by the southern part of the Hanusse Bay .
The Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey mapped them on the basis of measurements and aerial photographs from the years between 1956 and 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1960 after the Soviet glaciologist Pyotr Alexandrowitsch Schumski (1915–1988), author of a standard work on the petrology of ice and senior scientist at Mirny Station in the Antarctic winter of 1956.
