Christoph Adam Vöhlin of Frickenhausen (* 4. October 1668 ; † 2. January 1730 , presumably Mannheim ) was a Baron of the Swabian noble family of Vöhlin , Electoral Palatinate Privy Councilor and Master of the Horse .

He came from the Frickenhausen line of the von Vöhlin family and was born as the son of Hans Albrecht Vöhlin von Frickenhausen and his wife Maria Concordia von Preysing . Initially chamberlain to Emperor Joseph I in Vienna , he married Ämilia Carolina von Hohenems, who was also resident there, in 1703 .

On the recommendation of the empress mother Eleonore Magdalene von Pfalz-Neuburg , Christoph Adam Vöhlin von Frickenhausen came to the court of her brother, the Palatine Elector Karl III. Philipp , to Mannheim . Here he became a privy councilor and head stable master, in which position he remained until his death. He also received the dignity of a knight of the Order of St. Hubertus .

The baron died on January 2, 1730 and was buried in the Mannheim St. Sebastian's Church , where he received an epitaph that his wife had erected. It is no longer preserved, but the inscription is preserved in the Thesaurus Palatinus by the regional historian Johann Franz Capellini von Wickenburg († 1752).

She died in Mannheim in 1752, was the chief stewardess of the princess or later Electress Elisabeth Auguste von Pfalz-Sulzbach , star cross-order lady and owned a large library as well as a well-known coin collection. The numismatist Johann David Köhler († 1755) compared her historical interest with the Byzantine princess Anna Komnena and writes that her family has never been a countess like her, "who had such a respect for and inclination towards learning, history and coinage. The couple had 2 sons, Franz Karl and Ludwig Philipp, who died early.

The nephew Johann Philipp Georg Dominikus Vöhlin von Frickenhausen (1705–1736) was chamberlain of the Palatinate and captain of the electoral bodyguard . He was also buried in St. Sebastian zu Mannheim.
