The Bahçelik Dam is located on the upper reaches of the Zamantı in the province of Kayseri in Central Anatolia ( Turkey ).
The Bahçelik dam was built in 1996-2005 as a rock rubble dam . It is used to generate energy , regulate runoff , supply drinking water and provide irrigation . The dam is 53 m high and has a volume of 1.634 million m³. The associated 10 km long reservoir has a water surface of 12.13 km² and a storage volume of 216.14 million m³. At the upper end of the lake is the district town of Pınarbaşı . The dam is used to irrigate an area of 49,033 hectares. The Bahçelik dam's hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 4.71 megawatts . The standard work capacity is 27.84 GWh per year.
