The Breitenstein station is a stop on the Semmering Railway in the town of Breitenstein in Lower Austria . The listed reception building is very close to the town center, at the foot of the Kreuzberg, and at an altitude of 791 meters. As part of the Semmering Railway, the station is a listed building ( list entry ).

The Semmering Railway station is served by regional trains on the Payerbach-Reichenau - Semmering route, with individual trains in the direction of Semmering also being connected to Mürzzuschlag. On Saturdays, the last train goes to the Spielfeld-Straß border station. In addition, a pair of REX trains from Vienna to Mürzzuschlag operates daily.
The station is very popular with hikers, which is why more trains run here on weekends than on weekdays.
Furnishing
The station has three through tracks, one of which is used as a passing track for both directions. Platforms 1 and 2 are connected to the outer tracks.
The station also has a siding for freight cars and a small material shed.

The famous Kalte-Rinne-Viaduct is located near the Breitenstein train station .
