Railway stations in Saxony-Anhalt |
The Drei Annen Hohne station is a separation station of Harzquerbahn and Brockenbahn in Drei Annen Hohne , district of Wernigerode in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
The station was built in 1898 by the Nordhausen-Wernigeroder Railway Company after the Harzquerbahn had been completed and was initially called Signalfichte , then Signalfichte-Hohne . After a storm overturned the signal spruce in October 1901, the two place names in the area were combined in the name of the station.
For the rail connection to Elbingerode in standard gauge, a separate station was built on May 1, 1907, the "Lower Station", south of the Harzquerbahnhof. It was built by the Halberstadt-Blankenburg Railway . Both stations were connected by an underpass for pedestrians. This line was closed on December 1, 1965. The remaining embankment is suitable in parts as a cycle path. Both stations were on Elbingerode until 1947. The track and stations were exchanged with the Büchenberg forest settlement belonging to Wernigerode . The “lower station” has been in disrepair since the line was closed after it had been used as a Mitropa restaurant for some time .
In the year the Harzquerbahn railway station was built, a hotel was built opposite to the north, which was called "Beckers Hotel" until it was sold in 1940. After 1945 the Ministry of the Interior took possession of it. After the fall of the Wall , it is back in private hands and is now called "Der Kräuterhof".
The name of the station was later transferred to the surrounding small settlement Drei Annen Hohne .
