The Gobabis station is the station of the Trans Namib -Eisenbahngesellschaft in the city of Gobabis .

The terminal station is the terminus of the railway line Windhoek-Gobabis . It was put into operation at the end of 1930.

The planned 1500 km long Trans-Kalahari Railway is to be connected to the existing rail network in Gobabis and from here it will be connected via Windhoek to the port of Walvis Bay on the Atlantic coast .

Today (2018) only freight traffic takes place here.
