Railway stations in Schleswig-Holstein |
The Mölln (Lauenburg) station is located in the same city in the Duchy of Lauenburg . The first station building was opened simultaneously with the opening of the Lübeck – Lüneburg railway on October 16, 1851.
In 1899 a new building was erected south of it; At the same time, the Mölln – Hollenbek railway (called Hein Hollenbek ) was built, which existed until 1959 and had a connection to the Kaiserbahn in Hollenbek . Today only the Lübeck – Lüneburg railway line is in operation.
The old, first reception building is now privately owned and is a listed building. The newer is owned by the Vereinigte Stadtwerke GmbH. The new customer center as well as further business will be built there.
Railway systems
The part of the reception building, which is still in use, is built in the typical Prussian railway station architecture and houses the Lok-Haus restaurant and a kiosk. The counter hall previously used for passenger traffic is closed due to vandalism (as of 2008).
The station area was renovated in 2008. The old shape signals were replaced by light signals and the thresholds of track 2 and the level crossing were completely renewed. All side tracks for freight traffic and the connecting track to Heidenreich & Harbeck have been removed.
business
The station has two tracks, with only track 1 on the house platform being used for passenger traffic since December 2008, as the crossing option in Ratzeburg was reactivated and the trains have been crossing there since then. There is another, not modernized platform between tracks 1 and 2. Freight traffic only takes place occasionally.
