history

On September 1, 1871, the Münster – Osnabrück section of the Wanne-Eickel – Hamburg line was opened. The station was first put into operation on May 1, 1897 as the Brock-Ostbevern railway stop at the "Keeper's Shack 62" for passenger traffic. The municipality of Ostbevern had to bear the costs alone, as the municipality of Westbevern , in which the Brock farmers were located, had no interest in the station.

Freight traffic began in 1906 with a freight loading point. This time the municipality of Westbevern also contributed to the costs. Above all, it was used to transport cattle. 1906–1908 the Chausseestrasse to Ostbevern, the L 830 , was built. The originally planned 69,000 marks finally amounted to 117,030 marks. The street was given a 3.8 m wide paved ceiling.

With the electrification of the section from Münster to Osnabrück, the catenary in the station was put into operation on September 12, 1966.

In 1990 the regular freight traffic in Ostbevern was stopped. In December 2004 the station was renamed Ostbevern . Between 1906 and 1908 a road was built from the Kirchdorf Ostbevern to the Brock-Ostbevern train station.
