Railway stations in Bavaria |
The Störnstein train station is a former train station in the Upper Palatinate municipality of Störnstein , east of the 2395 state road.
history
The station was built in 1886 as part of the construction of the Neustadt (Waldnaab) –Vohenstrauss railway line . It went into operation with the opening of the line on October 16, 1886. In May 1992, passenger traffic on the route was stopped.
description
With its four switches, the station was a typical Bavarian local railway track system. The reception building is a ground floor knee-high building with a flat half- hipped roof made of polygonal masonry with a brick eaves cornice . There is also a ground floor wash house, which was built at the same time using the same construction method. Both the reception building and the wash house are registered listed buildings of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
