Peter Jablonski
Peter Jablonski (* 1971 in Karlskrona- Lyckeby, southern Sweden ) is a Swedish pianist of Polish origin.
Life
He started playing drums when he was five and the piano when he was six. At the age of nine he played in the Village Vanguard , but turned to the classical repertoire and played a Mozart concert at the age of eleven. At the same age he was admitted to the Malmö Music Academy. He studied piano playing and conducting at the Royal College of Music in London . There he fell on Vladimir Ashkenazy , with whom he often gave concerts. He made his debut in Washington, DC in 1992 and at the Royal Festival Hall in London in 1993 .
His repertoire includes so-called classical music as well as modern and contemporary music ( Scriabin , Prokofiev , Shostakovich , Gershwin ). He often plays works by Polish composers ( Szymanowski , Maciejewski ). Wojciech Kilar dedicated a piano concerto to him, which he premiered in 1998 in Warsaw .
He founded the Karlskrona Chamber Music Festival .
