The Tittmoning station was an operating point of the now disused Wiesmühl – Tittmoning railway in the Upper Bavarian town of Tittmoning .

history

The station was built by the Royal Bavarian State Railways outside the old town in front of the Salzburg Gate and went into operation on May 1, 1894 with the opening of the Freilassing – Tittmoning local railway.

In 1969 the passenger traffic was stopped, in 1981 the freight traffic as well. In the end, this only served a directly adjacent steel construction company with irregular trips.

The Deutsche Bundesbahn had already sold the station building in 1979 . When the station was still being served, the club rooms of the Modellisenbahnclub-Salzachtal-Tittmoning eV were on the ground floor. After the station was sold by the Deutsche Bundesbahn, the club finally moved out and found a new home in the guest house of the city of Tittmoning. The building is now used as a residential building. It is a listed building .

Buildings and systems

The station building from 1894 is a two-storey building made of unplastered quarry stone masonry. At the top it closes with a half-hip roof . There is also a ground floor goods shed with a gable roof , also made of unplastered quarry stone masonry. The station restaurant was on the eastern side. This building still exists today. The engine shed and the factory buildings were demolished.

The train driver's residence was in the extension of the engine shed.

The station facilities themselves had six points. One of them is a double crossing switch. Exit or entry signals did not exist. On the other hand, there are two loading cranes and three loading ramps.
