Neva Patterson

Neva Louise Patterson (born February 10, 1920 in Nevada , Iowa , † December 14, 2010 in Brentwood , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Neva Louise Patterson was born on a farm in Nevada, Iowa. After graduating from high school in 1937, she worked as a secretary for a while before she had enough money to move to New York City . There she worked again as a secretary, singer and minor actress before making her Broadway debut in 1947 . After starring in several television series, she made her screen debut alongside Dan Dailey and Blanche Yurka in 1953 in the romantic drama Taxi .

Neva Patterson was married three times. After her divorce in 1948 from the dancer Thomas Gallagher, she was married to Michael Ellis from 1953 to 1956, and then to the screenwriter James Lee from 1957 until his death in 2002 . Together with him, she adopted two children, Megan Lee and an Italian boy. She passed away on December 14, 2010 from complications from a broken hip in her Brentwood home.
