Solo for 2 ( All of Me ) is an American comedy film directed by Carl Reiner from 1984 . The plot is based on the novel Me Two by Edwin Davis .

action

The frustrated lawyer Roger Cobb would like to become a musician. He has a relationship with his boss's daughter.

Millionaire Edwina Cutwater is terminally ill. She bequeaths her fortune to a young woman, Terry Hoskins. Cobb helps with the formulation of the will .

Cutwater instructs Guru Prahka Lasa to transplant her soul into the body of Hoskins. Due to a mistake by the guru, Cutwater only gains control of the right half of Cobb's body, while Cobb continues to control his left. Reluctantly, the two souls have to come to terms with Cobb's body; they are now trying on the one hand to prevent the guru from leaving, and on the other hand to persuade Hoskins to make a second attempt. It turns out that she only agreed to the “booth magic” because she did not believe in its success and was only aiming for Cutwater's fortune. Now she tries everything to prevent the completion of the soul exchange. After a few mishaps and near-disasters, the transfer was finally completed. However, Hoskins does not have to spend eternity in the universe, but is allowed in one of Cutwaters horses and is now looked after by her father, who is Cutwaters gardener. The last scene shows Cobb and Hoskins dancing together; in the mirror you can see Cobb and Cutwater.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was "peppy", "grotesque" and "exuberantly amusing". The "many ideas" and the representations were praised.
