The Tournan station lies on the railway line Gretz-Armainvilliers - Sézanne . It is located in the municipality of Tournan-en-Brie in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region .
The station is now operated by the French railway company Société nationale des chemins de fer français . The station is served by the trains on line E (line E4) of the Réseau express régional d'Île-de-France (RER) and by trains on line P of the Transilien network.

history
The station was opened on February 2, 1861, at the same time as the opening of the Gretz - Mortcerf section of the later Gretz - Sézanne line. The operator was initially the Compagnie du chemin de fer de l'Est .
Since December 2003 this is the terminus of the E4 line of the RER. At the same time, the station area was modernized and the platforms increased from 55 cm to 92 cm. The Transilien trains on the Paris-Est - Coulommiers route also stop here .
Use of the train station
General and timetable overview
The station is the terminus of branch E4 of line E of the Réseau express régional d'Île-de-France (RER) and a stop for trains on line P of the Transilien network . These trains operate on the Paris Gare de l'Est - Coulommiers route and do not make any intermediate stops between Gare de l'Est and Tournan.
During rush hour, 2 to 4 RER trains run every hour in each direction, otherwise a train runs every 30 minutes. The Transilien route is used by one or two trains every hour. Since the timetable change in December 2009, the departure times of the Transilien have also been synchronized.
Passenger numbers
In 2005, the RER trains were used by an average of 3,340 rail passengers per day, which is an increase of 24 percent compared to 2000. Around 5000 people take the Transilien daily from Tournan to Paris Est.
Journey time
A ride on the RER between Haussmann Saint-Lazare and Tournan and vice versa takes around 48 minutes with 8 to 9 stops.
With the Transilien the journey to Paris Est takes 29 minutes, to Coulommiers - with 5 intermediate stops - 34 minutes.
There is a Park & Ride car park north and south of the train station . The bus station near the train station is served by a Noctilien line operated by RATP and during the day by twelve lines from five other bus companies.
