The Winter Haven train station is a railway station in long-distance traffic and is used by Amtrak operated. It is located in Winter Haven , Polk County , Florida on the CSX Transportation- operated Florida Western and Northern Railroad from Auburndale to West Palm Beach .
history
In 1925 the station was opened by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad . Until 1982 there was a warehouse on the south side of the station, which was demolished after the merger of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad with the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad .
Connection
The station is located in the southern city of Winter Haven, where the railroad crosses US Highway 17 . The station is served by the Amtrak railway company. From here the Silver Star makes a detour via Lakeland to Tampa before returning to Lakeland and then on to New York via Kissimmee. The Silver Meteor foregoes the detour and continues directly to Kissimmee, so that both lines run parallel again from there.
