Bahnhofstraße 17 is a listed building in Waging am See in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein . Until the Rupertiwinkel was transferred to the Electorate of Bavaria in 1803, it was the seat of the Salzburg Regional Court of Waging.

history

The building was originally owned by the Barons von Auer , and its core dates back to the 16th century. In 1683 the aristocratic seat was bought by the prince-bishop's court chamber, and from 1685 the Waging nursing office and court was relocated from Tettelkam Castle . The building was rebuilt and expanded around 1685/90 for its lordly function.

Waging Care and Regional Court

The nursing court was created in the 16th century from the amalgamation of the nursing courts Tettelkam and Halmberg. The judicial district consisted of the municipalities (before 1972) Waging am See, Petting, Wonneberg, Taching am See, Otting, Nirnharting and Gaden. In 1803 the court was secularized and incorporated into Bavaria in 1806 and became a regional court. It was dissolved as early as 1811 when it was merged with the Teisendorf Regional Court, based in Teisendorf.

After incorporation into Bavaria

After the court withdrew, the monument found a new function as an inn. The name Schwemmbräu referred to the nearby Roßschwemme. Today there is an internist practice on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floor.

Street front

The building with the dimensions 3180 × 1850 cm, which still exudes its noble function, dominates the Bahnhofstrasse with its six-axis facade. The front side has a trench roof with two half-hips, a round arch portal with granite framing, the high windows on the upper floor and ocular openings in the gable area have plaster framing. The upper floor, which is clearly higher as a piano nobile, has stucco ceilings and classicistic ovens inside.
