Hangzhou – Nanchang railway line

The Hangzhou – Nanchang railway is a high-speed line in the People's Republic of China between the cities of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province and Nanchang , capital of Jiangxi Province . It also crosses Anhui Province . The eastern section has been put into operation, the western section is under construction.

history

The eastern section of the electrified route was between the stations Hangzhou East and Huangshan opened on December 25, 2018th This section crosses the Huang Shan Mountains. The western section from Huangshan to Nanchang is scheduled to go into operation in 2022.

Technical parameters

The section of the route opened in 2018 is characterized by the course in the mountains. It is 287 km long, designed for a top speed of 250 km / h , the distance between the track axes is 4.60 m and the minimum curve radius is 3500 m. It has 87 tunnels with a total length of 140 km (almost 49% of the route length). The longest tunnel measures more than 12 km.

The section, opened in 2018, is of great tourist importance as the Huang Shan Mountains are a popular travel destination. Initially, 11 pairs of trains ran daily on the route; since January 19, 2019, this has increased to almost 30 pairs of trains. The travel time between the two provisional terminal stations is just under 1 ½ hours for trains that do not stop. The 16-car Fuxing high-speed trains (CRH400AF / BF), which offer almost 1200 seats per unit, are used.
