Qingdao – Jinan Railway (3)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The third railway Qingdao-Jinan is a high-speed line between the port city of Tsingtao and Jinan in the province of Shandong , in the People's Republic of China .

history

As early as 1904, the Schantung Railway went into operation between the two cities . This was followed about 100 years later by two double-track , electrified high-speed lines , including the Qingdao – Taiyuan high-speed line . On December 26, 2018, the third high-speed route described here between the two cities, the most important in the northeastern coastal province of Shandong, opened.

Technical parameters

The electrified, double-track line is almost 308 km long and mostly designed for a top speed of 350 km / h . Only the section between Jiaozjou Bei and Hongdao does not allow this speed. The distance between the track axes is 5 m. The minimum curve radius is 7000 m. 254 km (82.5%) of the route run on bridges or are elevated. 17.4 km of the route run in tunnels . The route has 11 stations . The cost of construction amounted to 59.9 billion renminbi (7.8 billion euros ).

traffic

The fastest connections on the new line run between the two cities with a journey time of 1:40 hours. The shortest travel time so far was 2:20 hours. Most trains in Qingdao do not go to the main train station, but to the Qingdao Bei junction station , to which a connection to the Qingdao subway network is being built.
