The Tithorea – Domokos railway line is a new, unfinished line of the Greek railway Organismos Sidirodromon Ellados (OSE).

The double-track, electrified line is 106 km long and replaces the 122 km long, single-track old line. The construction project began in 1997 and is expected to be completed in 2018 [obsolete] . The costs are around 1.8 billion euros .

Together with the high-speed line Domokos – Platy, which was completed in 2007, the travel time between Athens and Thessaloniki is to be reduced to 3.5 hours.

The section between Tithorea and Lianokladi was put into operation in February 2018.

course

The route begins in Tithorea . Then it runs east and crosses under the Kallidromo with a 9 km long tunnel. Then it runs through the valley of the Sperchios to Lianokladi . This is followed by the crossing of the Othris Mountains with a 6.4 km long tunnel. This is followed by a flat section through the dried up Xiniada Lake . After a mountainous section, Domokos is reached.
