The railway line Vester Sottrup – Skelde ( German  Wester Satrup – Schelde ), then called Broackerbahn , was built as a connection between Wester-Satrup and the Schelde while Northern Schleswig was part of the German Empire .

history

A "Stationskroen" still exists today in the former Broager train station (2016)

The decision to build the line was made on May 29, 1907, and on August 15, 1910, the Prussian State Railroad put it into operation.

The branch line was taken over on June 17, 1920 by the Danske Statsbaner (DSB). It quickly lost its importance as a result of the border that was newly drawn in Schleswig after the referendum and was discontinued on July 1, 1932.

In the early years of the DSB era, the railway was mostly used by DSB series F (III) locomotives , built by the Swiss Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik in Winterthur in 1917 and delivered to DSB between 1918 and 1919.
