The Baie USS Glacier ( French ) is a small bay in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It is a side bay of the Breidvika on the Princess Ragnhild Coast .
Scientists from the Belgian Antarctic Expedition in 1957/58 under Gaston de Gerlache de Gomery explored it. The bay is named after the US icebreaker USS Glacier , which freed the Norwegian sailor Polarhav from the pack ice in January 1959 in the service of Belgian Antarctic expeditions .
