The Baie des Épaves ( French for Bay of Wrecks ) is a small bay in the northeast of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland .
French scientists named them after the wrecks of the Cristiane and the Evelyne , two French survey ships that sank here in a storm in the Antarctic summer of 1961/1962.
