The Baie des Empereurs ( French for Bay of the Emperor Penguins ) is a bay in the Géologie Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adelieland . It lies between the Rostand Island and the Bon Docteur Nunatak .
French scientists named it in 1977 after the large colony of emperor penguins that can be found on the bay's sea ice .
