The Bain Crags ( Russian Утёсы Опасные Utjosy Opasnye , German 'Dangerous Cliffs' ) are a series of mostly banded and ice-enclosed cliffs on the west side of Gillock Island in the Amery Ice Shelf off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Lands .
The formation was explored in January 1969 by a team as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions , whose actual target area was the Prince Charles Mountains . Namesake is the leader of this team, the Australian geologist John H. C. Bain.
