Bakoko (also Basoo) is a Bantu language and is spoken by around 50,000 people in Cameroon . It is common in the province of Littoral and the Océan district in the Sud province .
classification
Bakoko is a northwest Bantu language and belongs to the Basaa group , which is classified as the Guthrie Zone A40.
It has the dialects Adie (also Elog Mpoo, Basoo Ba Die and Basoo D'edea), Bisoo (also Basso, Basoo Ba Likol and Adiangok), Mbang (also Dimbambang), Yabyang (also Yabyang-Yapeke), Yakalak (also Yakalag ), Yapoma and Yassuku (also Yasoukou, Yasug and Yasuku).
