Career

Baldur Ingimar played in his youth at Völsungur ÍF before moving to Germany for KFC Uerdingen 05 . Here, however, he could not prevail and returned to Iceland in March 2001.

With ÍA Akranes Baldur Ingimar was Icelandic champion in his first season in the Urvalsdeild . Before the beginning of the following season he was appointed to the national team for the first time and made his debut in January 2002 in the 0-1 defeat against the Saudi Arabian national team in the national team when he came on in the 78th minute for Helgi Sigurðsson . In March of that year he was in the starting line-up for the first time in the 6-1 defeat against Brazil , but after two appearances his national team career was over for the time being. With his club he occupied midfield positions in the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

In 2004 Baldur Ingimar moved to the second class 1. deild to Valur Reykjavík . For the club, he contributed in 15 games to the second division championship and thus to promotion to the first class. There the club managed the runner-up behind FH Hafnarfjörður . As a regular player, he showed good performances in the 2007 season, which on the one hand led to his return to the national team in August and on the other hand helped to win the national championship title. The following season, the team won the Icelandic League Cup with goals from Pálmi Rafn Pálmason , Atli Sveinn Þórarinsson and two-time goalscorer Dennis Bo Mortensen with a 4-1 win against Fram Reykjavík , but he did not play in the final.

In 2011 Baldur Ingimar moved to the first division promoted Víkingur Reykjavík , with whom he missed relegation.
