The small, uninhabited island of Baliceaux is part of the Grenadines , an island group within the Lesser Antilles . All Awash Island is approx. 3 km to the north, St. Vincent is approx. 20 km away , and the even smaller Battowia Island is just off the coast to the east . To the west lies Bequia and southwest Mustique .

The island belongs to the state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines .

When the Black Caribs were defeated by the British on St. Vincent in 1796, they deported the victors to Baliceaux, where half died. The survivors were relocated to the island of Roatán off the Honduran coast in February 1797 .
