Balodabazar , also Baloda Bazar , is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .
The city is the capital of the Balodabazar district . Balodabazar has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 18 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 26,632 inhabitants, of whom 13,481 were men and 13,151 were women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.8% and thus above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 92%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 6%.
