from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Balthasar Köller ( also: Balthaser Koller, Baltzer Koller, Balzer Kollen, Balthaser Käler, or just Käler) (* around 1540 - 23 May 1602 in Seester ), was a captain , bitter and provost of Uetersen .

Life

Balthasar Köller came from the old Pomeranian noble family Köller , who were well off in the 14th century and acquired many goods in Pomerania over the years and came to Holstein and Denmark in the 16th century. In 1552 he was transferred to Uetersen as captain and was elected provost of the Uetersen monastery on September 10, 1589 . The Pinneberger Drost and bailiff Clamer Heine then wrote to Count Adolf on September 18, 1589 and in this letter expressed his displeasure with the election to the monastery provost: “ ... the convent had a provost named Balthasar Koller, a Pomeranian nobleman, instead chosen by the deceased provost ”. On November 29th, Count Adolf wrote back from Stadthagen and regretted that the conventual women now “ always accept strangers to their provosts ” instead of considering that the monastery “ lies in our land and is founded on our praiseworthy ancestors ”; the maidens would also get "protection and protection, maintenance, wood and food from us ". Balthasar Köller died on May 23, 1602 in Seester and was buried on June 15, 1602 in Uetersen. In an old church account book in Seester it was said: “ † May 23, 1602, buried June 15. 1602 in Uetersen… des Eeddelen Erbarn and Erenvullen Balzar Kälers probstes tho Utersen ”. He carried out the office of provost until his death, and was succeeded by Alexander Sehestedt.
