Balthasar Rath

Balthasar Rath (born July 6, 1846 in Harff ; † May 2, 1899 in Grevenbroich ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Rath attended high schools in Neuss and Münstereifel and the universities in Bonn , Berlin and Munich . He was then an auscultator, trainee lawyer and assessor at the Cologne Regional Court , since May 1, 1874, justice of the peace in Wiehl and, since October 1, 1879, district judge in Grevenbroich .

From 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency district of Düsseldorf 12 ( Neuss , Grevenbroich ) and the German Center Party . At the same time he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the same constituency, both mandates ended with his death.
