Balthasar Siegel (Hammerherr)
Balthasar Siegel (* 1534 in Mittweida ; † May 13, 1575 ibid) was an early modern German entrepreneur . He was Hammerherr zu Mittweida and Großpöhla, where the Siegelhof was named after him.
Life
Siegel came from a dynasty of Hammerherrn from the Saxon Western Ore Mountains . He was the son of the hammer gentleman Andreas Siegel zu Mittweida. He took over this hammer mill after the death of his father and also acquired the so-called Deubner or Teubner hammer, from which the Siegelhof emerged, from his father-in-law Thomas Deubner, who was the hammer master in Mittweida.

He was married to Catharina Deubner, the daughter of Mittweidaer Hammerherrn Thomas Deubner (Teubner). From this marriage the son Andreas Siegel emerged, who also became a hammer owner.
