The Baltic College was a state-recognized private university of applied sciences with locations in Schwerin and Rostock . On February 1, 2013 it was absorbed by the Mittelstand University of Applied Sciences .

history

The University of Applied Sciences was founded in Güstrow in 2001 . In 2004 the state recognized by the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . This made the Baltic College the first state-recognized private university in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Since then, two further study locations have been established in Schwerin and Potsdam . In October 2010 the Baltic College relocated its headquarters to Schwerin in the Alte Fridericianum am Pfaffenteich , the Güstrow location expired at the end of the 2011 summer semester, the Potsdam location in summer 2012. The Baltic College was a member of the SeminarCenterGroup until January 2013 . Since February 1, 2013, the Baltic College (as Baltic College - FHM Schwerin) has been part of the state-recognized, private technical college for medium-sized companies .

Course offer

The university of applied sciences offered a wide range of study opportunities in the areas of hotel / tourism, health and management. The following full-time Bachelor programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree were offered:

  • Bachelor of Arts Hotel Tourism Management, full-time and optionally with an additional IHK degree as a hotel specialist
  • Bachelor of Arts Management in Health Tourism, full-time
  • Bachelor of Arts in Business Management, full-time
  • Bachelor of Arts Craft Management, Trial
  • Bachelor of Arts International Business Administration, full-time
  • Bachelor of Arts in Health Management, full-time
  • Bachelor of Science industrial engineer for master craftsmen, part-time (taking into account preliminary work from master craftsman training in cooperation with the Schwerin Chamber of Crafts)
  • Bachelor of Science industrial engineer for industrial foremen, part-time (taking into account preliminary work from master craftsman training in cooperation with the Schwerin Chamber of Crafts)

In addition, the educational institution offered the following master’s degree programs leading to a Master of Arts degree :

  • International Management, full-time
  • Marketing management in tourism, full time
