from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baltic Sea Labor Network (abbreviation BSLN ) is a transnational cooperation project of 22 partners from 9 countries in the Baltic Sea region .

overview

The social partners , politicians, experts and non-governmental organizations (NGO) involved jointly pursue the goal of making the Baltic Sea region a model region for Europe with regard to the development of the labor markets . The project is financed by the Baltic Sea Region Program 2007-2013 with a sum of 2.7 million euros and will run for a total of 3 years (until the end of 2011).

background

In the network, employers and business associations , trade unions , politicians, experts, non-governmental organizations and other interested parties are called upon to intensify the dialogue in the regions. BSLN acts as a forum for the exchange of knowledge between politicians and other decision-makers. At the same time, concepts are being developed that are tested in pilot projects. As a knowledge network, BSLN aims to provide experts and scientists with a comprehensive picture of the requirements for the labor markets in the Baltic Sea region.

content

The BSLN agenda includes the areas of strengthening social dialogue , mobility of work, active labor market policy as well as education and training . National and transnational conferences and workshops are organized on all subject areas. The first of three international conferences took place in November 2008 in Copenhagen on the subject of “Mobility of Work” . At the second conference in May 2010, experts from employer and trade union organizations in Vilnius (Lithuania) discussed the topics of “Strengthening the Social Dialogue”, “Mobility of Workers” and “Economic Development in the Baltic Sea Region”.

execution

The BSLN is based on national and transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region. The Steering Committee is the strategic and political decision-making body of the BSLN and has tripartite members . Eight representatives analyze and evaluate the labor market policy of the Baltic Sea region.

The facilitator team and project management coordinate all transnational activities. It consists of ten members.

In Estonia , Latvia , Lithuania and Poland , public relations work and labor market research are being strengthened by coordination centers at the national level. They were set up jointly by employers' organizations and trade unions .

The project coordinators of the 22 partner organizations are responsible for the implementation of the national BSLN activities in order to achieve the common project goals.
