Bangarmau is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
The city is part of the Unnao district . Bangarmau has the status of a Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . It had a total of 44,204 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 22,985 were men and 21,219 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of over 55%, followed by Muslims with over 44%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 68.35%.
Bangermau is a very old town on the left bank of the Kalyani River , a tributary of the Ganges . It is a central point for the local agricultural trade, which serves the surrounding villages as the main market.
There is a temple called Baba Bodheswar west of the city. Bangermau is therefore a pilgrimage center.
