The Bangka plumplori ( Nycticebus bancanus ) is a wet-nosed primrose from the genus slow loris , which occurs on the Indonesian island of Bangka , after which it was named, as well as in the southwest of Borneo .

features

Bangka slow loris reaches an average head-torso length of 25.8 cm and its body shape is similar to all other slow loris. A characteristic feature of the species is the color and shape of the dark brown face mask around the eyes and the diffuse, angular shape of the dark areas above the eyes. The face mask does not extend down to the zygomatic arches . There is a wide, white stripe between the eyes. The ears are hairy, the colored band in front of the ears is narrow. The broad stripe of fur on the back is strikingly purple.

distribution

The Bangka plumplori lives on Bangka and in southwestern Borneo ( Kalimantan Barat and Kalimantan Tengah ) south of the Kapuas and east of the Barito . It is the only slow loric species on Bangka. Since it is not certain whether the Kapuas insurmountably separates its range from that of Nycticebus borneanus , the range of the Bangka slow loris could partially overlap with that of Nycticebus borneanus .
