The Bankers Trust Building is a skyscraper in Lower Manhattan , New York, completed in 1912 according to plans by the architects Trowbridge & Livingstone . It is a 164 meter high building with 37 floors. The building takes up an entire block and runs along Nassau Street from Wall Street to Pine Street . Federal Hall and the New York Stock Exchange are directly opposite .

The first phase of construction began in 1910 with the demolition of the 20-story Gillender Building . At the time of completion, it was the tallest bank building in the world. The pyramid at the top of the building was the inspiration for the Bankers Trust Company logo . The 31st floor was once owned by JP Morgan and was later converted into a restaurant that existed as "The 14 Wall Street" until April 2006.
