Eric Syz (CEO)

The Banque SYZ AG is a Geneva private bank , the Swiss banking group SYZ. The main shareholder is Eric Syz.

The bank is dedicated to asset management . It operates the two branches of a private bank (SYZ Wealth Management) and an institutional asset management (SYZ Asset Management). The Group's assets under management amounted to 37.2 billion Swiss francs in December 2017 .

history

Bank SYZ SA was founded in Geneva in January 1996 by Eric Syz, Alfredo Piacentini and Paolo Luban. In 1999 the bank began its international expansion in Nassau by founding SYZ Bank & Trust there. At the same time branches were opened in Lugano and Locarno . Additional offices in Luxembourg were added in July 2001 , followed by another opening in London in August 2001.

In 2002, the bank teamed up with the Italian group Albertini to create the asset management company Albertini SYZ in Milan , which was converted into a bank in November 2003 under the name Banca Albertini SYZ. In 2013, SYZ took control of Banca Albertini SYZ.

It joined forces with Spanish group N + 1 in July 2009 to create the asset management company N + 1 SYZ in Madrid .

In 2010 the bank decided to consolidate all of its institutional asset management activities into SYZ Asset Management . In June 2012, SYZ Swiss Advisors was founded, a Swiss asset management company registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and primarily geared towards American investors.

When the partnership agreement was withdrawn, two of the three founders, Alfredo Piacentini and Paolo Luban, left the group in June 2014. Eric Syz became the majority shareholder and CEO .

In July 2015, SYZ took over Bank of Canada (Suisse) SA. In December 2016, a branch of SYZ Asset Management (Europe) Ltd opened in Munich and in September 2017 a branch of SYZ Asset Management (Europe) Ltd in Madrid .

Awards

In July 2014, Bank SYZ was named the most solid Swiss bank in the ranking of the largest banks in the world ( Top 1000 World Banks 2014 ). The annual ranking was initiated by the British magazine The Banker , a member of the Financial Times group . The soundness of banks was measured on the basis of the capital / assets ratio (equity in relation to assets).

In October 2014, Bank SYZ was named Best Private Banking Boutique by the jury of the Global Private Banking Awards 2014 of the British magazines Professional Wealth Management (PWM) and The Banker, two publications of the Financial Times Group .
