The Bar Branch is a 5.4 kilometer long river in Pittsylvania County in the US state of Virginia . It rises in a wooded area about 150 meters from the intersection of Slatesville Road ( County Road 701 ) and Old Richmond Road ( Virginia State Route 360 ). From here it flows in a northeastern direction. After crossing under Bair Branch Road ( County Road 662 ), it flows into the Banister River after 500 meters or 1.5 kilometers southwest of Pickaway .
